Before the stage lights ever came on, before the stories unfolded, Theater Laundering had already begun—quietly, experimentally, behind the scenes. Last season, Virgule invited audiences into a sneak peek of this evolving work under the title The Marketing of Theater Laundering, presented as a work-in-development.

What began as an open rehearsal turned into a daring provocation: What is cleaned before it is shown? What stories get softened, filtered, or dressed up for public taste—or for funding?

This early phase allowed us to test the edges of the concept, to ask honest questions, and to bring the audience into the process—not just the product. Now, Theater Laundering is returning in its full form.

Stay tuned. The machine is almost ready. The cycle begins again.
