After the inspiring success of our previous Verhalenhuis edition, Virgule is thrilled to announce the return of this unique storytelling project—this time unfolding in both The Hague and Rotterdam. In close collaboration with ROSE stories, we’ll once again open the doors to personal narratives that rarely find their way onto stage.

Verhalenhuis (House of Stories) is more than a performance—it’s a shared space where lived experiences, untold memories, and quiet transformations become visible. In our previous edition, performers from diverse cultural and social backgrounds stepped into the spotlight with courage and tenderness, offering stories shaped by migration, identity, family, silence, and resilience. The workshops and performances , shaped by an open dramaturgy and personal storytelling, was both intimate and collective—a house where many could find themselves.

This upcoming Verhalenhuis builds on that foundation. Together with ROSE stories, we are developing new trajectories of training, storytelling, and performance, offering participants the space to write, speak, and share from within. The cities of The Hague and Rotterdam—each with their own complex textures of migration, belonging, and transformation—will host this new chapter.

We invite you to follow the journey as new voices take the stage and new homes for stories are created. Because when we listen deeply, we begin to understand that we’re all part of something much larger.
